Hurricane-Impact Glass
Miami-Dade Certified
Engineered for Extreme Weather
Hurricane impact glass is a specially engineered glazing solution designed to protect homes and commercial buildings from extreme weather conditions, including high winds and flying debris. Constructed with multiple layers of glass bonded by a durable polymer interlayer, this glass remains intact even if the outer layers crack or shatter, helping prevent wind, rain, and debris from entering the structure while reducing the risk of injury from broken shards.

We offer 9/16" hurricane impact laminated glass and 1-5/16" insulated impact glass, both Miami-Dade County certified and tested to Missile Level D for use in Wind Zone 4 applications, with a glass makeup consisting of 1/4" heat-strengthened glass laminated with a 0.90 SGP interlayer for exceptional strength and performance.

Large Missile Test:
Withstands impact from a 2"×4" timber projectile without penetration, then endures cyclic pressure testing to simulate hurricane-force winds.

Small Missile Test:
Resists impacts from 2-gram steel balls traveling 130 ft/s, followed by the same rigorous hurricane pressure cycling.

How Is It Tested?
Available as laminated or insulated laminated systems—with insulated options providing enhanced energy efficiency—impact glass also improves safety and comfort by discouraging forced entry, reducing outside noise, blocking up to 99% of harmful UV rays, and helping lower heating and cooling costs. Offered in a wide range of styles and configurations including windows, doors, and sliding glass systems, hurricane impact glass adds durability, modern appeal, and long-term value while meeting strict building code requirements, making it a smart investment for peace of mind in unpredictable climates.
