Economic factors, such as the cost of transitioning to greener technologies, also pose hurdles for manufacturers, requiring government incentives and policy support to drive widespread change. 


The global push for sustainability is also prompting the glass industry to rethink its entire supply chain, from raw material extraction to product end-of-life management. By collaborating with other industries and investing in research and development, glass manufacturers can develop closed-loop systems that minimize waste. Additionally, many are exploring the use of local sourcing for raw materials, which reduces transportation emissions and supports regional economies. These supply chain innovations could further reduce the overall carbon footprint of glass production, aligning with broader goals for sustainability across multiple sectors.
